Elizabeth Shoudy (Board of Assessment Appeals)
Longtime Resident & Community Member; Elizabeth Shoudy, a proud Coginchaug graduate, returned to Durham in 1995 to raise her family and has remained deeply involved in the community ever since. She is now seeking a seat on the Board of Assessment Appeals to continue serving the town she calls home.
Dedicated Educator with over 25 years of service in Special Education in both RSD13 and RSD18, Elizabeth worked as a Transition and Career Coordinator, where she led the successful Summer Jobs Program, making a lasting impact on countless local youth

Proven Nonprofit & Community Leadership; since 2016, Elizabeth has served in multiple leadership roles with the Durham Democrats, including Co-Chair, Social Media Chair, and currently Outreach Chair.
She also serves as Chairperson of Journey to Success, a nonprofit that empowers women with disabilities to build and sustain successful businesses.
Belief in Durham’s Future; Elizabeth believes Durham is the perfect place to raise a family and retire. She supports a unified vision across town boards—one that balances tax relief with smart, sustainable growth.
A Vision for Growth & Affordability; Elizabeth is committed to keeping Durham affordable while encouraging thoughtful progress. She envisions a vibrant, thriving community that continues to be admired—and one future generations will be proud to call home.
