Bob Moore

I am seeking another term on the Board of Education because I am committed to making the District Schools the best they can be and ensuring that our schools provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students. I have served on the Board of Education for Regional School District 13 from October 2015 to November 2021 and from July 2016 to November 2021 as its Chairman. I was again elected to fill a vacancy in December of 2021 and currently serve on several committees and chair its Well-Being committee.

 

RSD 13 has seen many changes over the last year with a new superintendent, new high school and middle school administrators, and several new Board members. I hope I can continue to bring some history and stability to the Board in its oversight responsibilities and assist the superintendent in his reimagining education effort.

With three children enrolled in RSD13, I am deeply committed to improving the education and wellbeing of learners in our district. My family and I relocated to Durham from Middletown for our son in 2017 because of RSD’s exceptional special education reputation. Through years of navigating the world of special education, I have gained an extensive understanding of school protocols and processes. I also cofounded the Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (RSD13 SEPTO).

 

As a former Emergency Department RN and current full time Nursing Administrative Supervisor, I have the experience and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals at all levels to identify, define, and solve problems facing our district. Furthermore, I know the importance of asking tough questions. As a former Division I college athlete (Marist College Soccer) I also understand the commitment and drive it takes to persevere in the face of adversity. My job and life experiences have instilled in me strong leadership qualities including task completion, motivation, organization, and time management. I am prepared to tackle the diversity, equity, inclusion, and fiscal challenges facing RSD13.
