Tina Hurlbert has been an educator for over 25 years. She was raised in Cromwell and graduated salutatorian of the class of 1994 at Cromwell High School. She earned a dual major in Italian and Child Development from Connecticut College, a Masters in Teaching from Manhattanville College, and a sixth year certificate in Instructional Technology and Digital Media Literacy from the University of New Haven. She holds certifications in K-6 Elementary Education, 7-12 Italian, and PreK-12 Technology Education.

Tina spent the last 15 years teaching computers and technology education in Regional School District 13, where she helped launch the robotics programs at Strong  and CRHS and increased enrollment of non-male students in Woodworking, Engineering, and Design Courses by 17% from 2018 to 2022 at Coginchaug Regional High School. She currently teaches Italian at Guilford High School.

Tina has been a Durham resident for 18 years. Her husband, Scott, is a 1993 graduate of Coginchaug Regional High School. Her daughter Cady is a 2021 CRHS grad, and her daughter Sofia will be graduating from CRHS and ACES Educational Center for the Arts this June. In her free time, Tina enjoys hiking and woodworking. She is looking forward to continuing to serve the students, families, and residents of Durham as a member of the Regional School District 13.
